HAZWOPER TRAINING
T.R. Consulting provides several programs to aid employers in obtaining and maintaining the required level of employee training for those employees with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals in strict accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR Part 1910.120(e). HAZWOPER courses focus on recognizing site hazards, use of personal protective equipment, safe work practices, use of engineering controls, medical surveilance, monitoring methods, site communication, site control, decontamination, emergency response, confined spaces and spill containment. The following levels of training are available:
40 HOUR HAZWOPER TRAINING
The 40 hour HAZWOPER course is designed for workers who would be exposed to chemicals above published safe exposure levels if protective measures (such as protective clothing) were not in use at a site.
24 HOUR HAZWOPER
This level of initial training applies to workers who are regularly on hazardous waste operation sites which have been monitored and fully characterized as free from health hazards and where there is no expectation that an emergency could arise.
16 HOUR HAZWOPER SUPPLEMENT
This supplemental training allows workers with 24 Hour HAZWOPER certifications to obtain the additional training necessary to meet the 40 hour HAZWOPER certification level.
8 HOUR SUPERVISOR TRAINING
On-site managers and supervisors require addtional training on topics such as safety and health plans, hazard monitoring, respirator programs, PPE selection, spill containment and employee training requirements.

8 HOUR ANNUAL REFRESHER TRAINING
Every year, certified employees must undergo refresher training to continue their certification. This course reviews the topics of the 40 hour or 24 hour course and incidents or near incidents of the past year.

"24 Hour On-line HAZWOPER + 16 Hour Classroom" = 40 Hour HAZWOPER TRAINING
T.R. Consulting has developed a "combination" course for meeting the 40 Hour HAZWOPER initial training requirements of 29 CFR Part 1910.120(e)(3). This option allows for substantial flexibility for the employer by allowing employees to complete the on-line portion at convenient times and allowing a host of options for reducing down time for the classroom training which are unavailable through traditional 40 hour courses. The on-line portion provides the basic concepts and components of training, followed by exercises and a test. The classroom portion concentrates on the actual materials, situations and procedures likely to be encountered by employees. Thus, the employees learn how to apply the principals and procedures to their daily work, making the training substantially more valuable than generic training.
